Jacob Zang is a musician who is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a producer and engineer, he has worked many local bands, solo artists singer/songwriters, gigging professionals, and other large and small ensembles. He has also worked commercially for the IEMMA Broadcast Network, Pittsburgh Creators’ Project, and Duquesne University. He has additional experience working with five time GRAMMY award winner Jay Dudt at MCG Jazz and interning under Jesse Naus at Red Caiman Studios. Currently, Jacob works as a staff engineer at Pittsburgh's premier recording studio, Audible Images Recording Studios.
As a guitarist, Jacob has been playing professionally for over ten years. He has been involved with almost all environments that a guitarist can be involved with. Jacob shows gret versatility on his instrument in the studio and on the stage, playing in the genres of rock, funk, country, blues, acoustic, worship, ambient, jazz, RnB, gospel, and more. He regularly plays public-facing shows with his band Fusion Illusion, and Steel Mill Rising. In addition to being an artist, he is the Music Director for America’s Got Talent performer Ashley Marina’s stage band, and Music Director for Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church’s Worship Band. In the past, he has studied privately with Mark Koch, Eric Susoeff, Jay Weaver, and Scott Elliot. Currently, he studies under Alex Price. Jacob also has experience working as a musical theater pit musician, and private lessons teacher, and drumline instructor. Jacob endorses Wampler Pedals.
Jacob is currently a Senior at Duquesne University. He is majoring in Music Technology with a concentration in Sound Recording Technology, and a focus in Jazz Guitar. He is also the President of the Duquesne University Chapter of the Audio Engineering Society.
