Jacob Zang is a versatile musician who is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a producer and engineer, he has worked many local bands, solo artists singer/songwriters, gigging professionals, and other ensembles of all sizes. He has also worked commercially for the IEMMA Broadcast Network, Pittsburgh Creators’ Project, and Duquesne University. Currently, Jacob works at Pittsburgh's premier recording studio, Audible Images Recording Studios. He has additional producing and engineering experience working with five time GRAMMY award winner Jay Dudt at MCG Jazz. He has also interned under Jesse Naus at Red Caiman Studios.
As a guitarist, Jacob has been playing professionally since the age of 12. He has been involved with almost all environments that a guitarist can be involved with. In the studio, has been known to show great versatility on his instrument. Most often in the musical genres of rock, funk, country, blues, acoustic, jazz, RnB, Gospel, and many others. Also, he actively plays out in his band Fusion Illusion, and is Music Director for America’s Got Talent performer, Ashley Marina’s stage band. In addition to the bands that he plays in, he coordinates/leads the worship band every Sunday morning at Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church. In the past, he has studied privately with Jay Weaver and Scott Elliot. Currently, he studies with Mark Koch and Eric Susoeff. In other musical areas, he has experience working as a musical theater pit musician, and private lessons teacher, and drumline instructor. Jacob endorses Wampler Pedals.
Jacob is currently a Senior at Duquesne University. He studies Music Technology with a concentration in Sound Recording Technology, and a focus in Jazz Guitar. He is also the President of the Duquesne University Chapter of the Audio Engineering Society.
